Reservation Procedures

• The corporate number HI0038 is prefilled

Online reservations can be made up to 72 hours prior to arrival.

Reservations required within 72 hours of pick up date must be made by calling the central reservation number.

Reservations can also be made directly with Dollar Rent-A-Car reservations during normal business hours. The corporate number HI0038 and your pCard information is required at time of reservation

Note: Effective February 20, 2009, Dollar Rent-A-Car has implemented new hours of operation for the following stations. Reservations will not be taken for car pickup on flights arriving after these times.

• Kapalua (JHM) will be open from 7:00am – 5:00pm
• Hilo (ITO) will be open from 6:00am – 8:00pm

Daily/ Weekly Rate Conditions:

Daily rates are based on a 24 hour rental period.
Weekly rates are based on a seven day rental period. Rates are inclusive of applicable taxes, surcharges and mandatory fees. Includes one tank of gas.

Molokai Special Conditions: Compact car only is guaranteed. All other car types are available but are based on availability.

12 pax vans
Reservations must be called in and are not available online. 12 pax vans are based on availablilty, upon request only and not guaranteed. 12 pax vans available on Oahu, Maui (kahului), Kauai and Hawaii. Not available on Molokai.

Payment acceptance

Dollar Rent-a-car will accept the State of Hawaii MasterCard Purchasing Card (pCard) as the primary form of payment at time of closing of rental agreement. All incidental charges not included as part of the inclusive rate shall be paid directly by the traveler.

Dollar Rent-a-car will also accept personal credit cards in lieu of no pCard as the form of payment.

Dollar Rent-a-car will NOT ACCEPT purchase orders.

Dollar Rent-a-car will NOT ACCEPT checks.

Changes and Cancellations

Dollar Rent-a-car will not charge for any "no-show" reservations but we do ask as a courtesy to call to cancel reservations if your reservation is not required.

Counter bypass/Express Check in and Return

Dollar will provide express service to state employees. The renter will advise the driver that they are with the state of Hawaii. A special counter will expedite the check in process for state employees.

Return of vehicle will include verification of condition of vehicle and mileage. At that time, the contract is closed with primary payment being from the pCard (if no pCard, renter must present credit card for payment).

All services that are not included in the daily inclusive rate must be paid directly by the renter to Dollar (example: Personal Liability Insurance). A receipt of final charges will be presented to renter.

Refueling options:

Dollar provides no refueling option. All rentals will have a full tank of gas at time of rental and can be returned with an empty tank of gas at no charge

Authorized Drivers

• Renter is properly licensed
• Renter is acting within the scope of their employment duties.
• Must be 21 years of age or older with no underage fee. Driver must rent while on authorized state travel.
• Additional authorized drivers will be allowed to rent without additional charges while on authorized state travel
